So glad you could join me here on a Friday afternoon! I am so glad to join you. I am Elizabeth Gilbert, the lady behind theassistantfiles.com. And today I have an awesome question for you. I was sitting at home and having one of my a-ha moments and this came up. Here it is. Ok, so the question is: What is the most valuable thing I do for you? So, think about that. Write this down. What is the most valuable thing I do for you? So when you are in a meeting with your agent or really any other team member (actually you should ask this of all your team members). What is the most valuable thing I do for you? I think you’ll find that the answer is astonishing actually. I have asked this of a couple people on my team and I was actually very pleasantly surprised at the response that I got. It really wasn’t what I was expecting and it was eye-opening to say the least.

Now, take this a step further and then I also want you to ask your clients. Have your agents on your team ask your clients, “What would you consider the most valuable thing I did for you to be?” or “What was the most valuable thing I did for you?” I think you’ll find some really awesome answers from you clients as well. Can you imagine, you know, beyond (and you might preface it with “beyond selling your house”) what’s the most valuable thing I did for you? And maybe that was holding their hand through the whole process. Maybe that was giving them honest answers and being there for them. Maybe it was that time you let the inspector into the house when they inadvertently locked the door and you went and picked up a key from them and went back and made it all work.

So, whatever you’re doing, ask this awesome question.I think you will really come to a better understanding. Especially of the one you ask your team. If you are one of those assistants who feels like you’re not appreciated or you don’t hear it often enough, ask this question. And I think you will find you truly are appreciated. Because that’s the answer that comes out of this. You will get an understanding of how valuable you are to the team and what it is that you do that makes that valuable.

Now, once you’ve got this question asked, you have to double, triple down on it. You have to do more to take it one step further. So whatever it is that you do that people find most valuable. Or whatever it is that your team does that your clients find most valuable, double down on that. Do it more often, do it better, do it with a bigger smile. Whatever it is that you do, do it more. Because that’s what you’ll be known for. People will come to love you and trust you and know you for that thing which you already do, but when you take it that much further, I think you’ll find that you’ll get a lot of mileage out of that.

So I hope this was helpful for you and if you have any questions of course leave them in the comments. I would love to hear your response too. Take this to your team, take this to your clients and put what you hear in the comments down below this video so that we can see how fabulous you are! I think you guys are all fabulous. I mean, that’s just a given. You’re here, right? So put your comments down below the video. Let us know how that went for you: if it was good, if it was amazing, if you heard something you thought you would hear, or even if you hear something you were surprised by. I would truly love to know that and I think the other readers of this Facebook page and of my blog would like to hear that too.
