I just created this new email signature for myself using Google Docs, and it’s super simple!
First, open a new Google Docs document.
Then, click Insert > Table and create a 2×1 table.
Insert your photo in the left box and your contact information with links in the right box.
To remove the gridlines, click Format > Table > Table Properties… Under Table border, select 0 pt and click OK.
Finally, copy everything on the page and paste it into your Gmail signature box which can be found by clicking the gear in the upper right corner of Gmail, selecting Settings and scrolling down to the Signature box. Be sure to click Save Changes at the bottom of the page!
Gmail is telling me my signature is too long when I copy and paste it in there 🙁 Any work-arounds with that? Mine looks just like yours.
Hey Corrinne – Try resizing your table by hovering your mouse over the far right vertical border and dragging it in to the left. If that doesn’t work, share your Google Doc with me (egilbert@kw.com) and I’ll take a look at it!
How do I make my photo circular like yours?
Canva.com! It’s free! I’ll create and post a video about how to do it.
Thanks! And one other question, how do you get it to keep the font you selected in google docs?
Hmm, I didn’t have any font issues. I simply used Google’s built-in fonts. Did you use a font you imported yourself? That’s the only reason I can think there would be an issue.
